Made from the ages of 14-22, Richard D. James’ studio debut album is a showcase of a prodigy discovering himself and his genius. Composed of genre breaking glitchy tracks and ambient soundscapes, this mass assortment of songs are perfect for both an underground cave, a day on the beach, or a night walk on the town. While these tracks were created on early synthesizer hardware and rudimentary software from the 70’s and 80’s, they still sound like a relevant breath of fresh air in the 2020’s. Aphex Twin was in a league of his own that inspired those both older and younger than him for generations to come, including bands like Radiohead, Flume, JPEGMAFIA, and many others.
